Eurostat, het statistische bureau van de Europese Unie, heeft een overzicht gegeven van EU-burgers die in een ander land studeren of werken. Daarnaast geeft het inzicht in hoeveel EU-burgers in een ander EU-land wonen en welke transportmiddelen ze gebruiken. Tevens geeft het onderzoek inzicht in toeristische gegevens. In het rapport worden gegevens gebruikt uit 2018.<\/p>\n

Uit de cijfers die ze gepubliceerd hebben over het aantal grensgangers, blijkt dat er een lichte toename van grenspendelaars is ten opzichte van de laatste cijfers uit 2016.<\/p>\n

Actueel werken vanuit Nederland 16.200 grenspendelaars in Duitsland en 17.500 in Belgi\u00eb. Vanuit Belgi\u00eb werken 37.800 grenspendelaars in Nederland, 40.300 in Luxemburg, 12.900 in Duitsland en 16.100 in Frankrijk. Vanuit Duitsland werken 39.500 pendelaars in Nederland, 3.400 in Belgi\u00eb en 52.200 in Luxemburg.<\/p>\n

Mocht u willen weten hoeveel geld EU-burgers uitgeven aan een trip naar een ander EU-land, dan liggen die uitgaven in Nederland, Duitsland en Belgi\u00eb niet ver uit elkaar. Gemiddeld geeft een Nederlander \u20ac 445,- uit, een Duitser \u20ac 510,- en een Belg \u20ac 541,-. Ter vergelijk, een Zweed geeft \u20ac779,- uit en een Roemeen \u20ac 134,-.<\/p>\n
