De AOW-leeftijd gaat in 2024 niet omhoog. In 2024 hebben mensen recht op AOW met 67 jaar en drie maanden. Daarmee blijft de AOW-leeftijd gelijk in 2022, 2023 en 2024. De Nederlandse regering heeft dit vastgesteld op basis van de jaarlijkse raming van de levensverwachting door het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) en een wettelijk vastgelegde formule voor de vaststelling van de AOW-leeftijd.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

De AOW-leeftijd wordt vanaf 2022 automatisch aangepast aan de levensverwachting op 65-jarige leeftijd. Eventuele verhoging wordt vijf jaar van te voren aangekondigd. Indien nodig geeft dit mensen de tijd om bijvoorbeeld extra te sparen voor hun(aanvullend) pensioen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

De levensverwachting stijgt weliswaar enigszins in 2024, maar niet zoveel dat de AOW-leeftijd moet worden aangepast. Afgelopen jaren werd de AOW-leeftijd in 2022 en 2023 ook vast gesteld op 67 jaar en drie maanden. De levensverwachting blijft op langere termijn wel stijgen, maar de stijging verloopt niet gelijkmatig.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
