Consultation days for Belgian and Dutch cross-border workers
We organise regular consultation days for cross-border workers. Also in 2023, citizens from the Euregion who work or have worked in the neighbouring country can come to Maastricht with their questions to various experts. Questions on the subject of social security in Belgium or in the Netherlands are answered by advisers from the Bureau for Belgian Affairs (BBZ) of the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB). Help with tax issues in the Netherlands or Belgium is offered by Team GWO of the Dutch Tax Authorities.
Who is this consultation hour for?
Are you crossing the border to live, work, do business or study there? If so, you will have a lot to deal with. Especially when it comes to social security and taxes. But perhaps you also have practical questions such as importing your car or the differences in labour law. To get all these questions answered at once, take advantage of the free consultation days organised by the GrensInfoPunt Maastricht in cooperation with the Bureau for Belgian Affairs (BBZ) and Team GWO.
What kinds of questions?
With all your questions relating to social security, such as questions about your pension, child benefits and medical care, you can meet the Bureau for Belgian Affairs (BBZ) during this consultation hour. BBZ is part of the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB) and, apart from their regular work for the SVB, also carries out tasks for the Uitvoeringsinstituut Werknemersverzekeringen (UWV) and for the CAK.
With all your questions relating to taxes, such as your tax return, taxation of income and assets, and avoiding double taxation, you can meet Team GWO during this consultation hour. Team GWO is a partnership between the Dutch, Belgian and German tax authorities. During the consultation day, an employee of the Dutch and Belgian tax authorities will be happy to help you. If you have questions about taxation between the Netherlands and Germany, please also feel free to contact us. Even in this situation we can offer you a suitable solution.
With all your questions relating to practical aspects, such as importing your car, differences in holiday accrual, applying for a BSN, obtaining a Belgian national number, you can contact a staff member of the GrensInfoPunt. The GrensInfoPunt works closely with the team from Grensarbeid, so if you have any questions about working in the neighbouring country, or are looking for a job, we can also be of service.
Our consultation days are by appointment only.
