Anyone living in Belgium or Germany who works as a cross-border worker in the Netherlands, or receives a pension or benefit from the Netherlands, is registered with the Dutch Central Administration Office (CAK) together with any family members. Often, individuals living abroad pay statutory social security contributions directly to the CAK.
Digital communication with the CAK has been possible via the Office’s online customer platform Mijn CAK for one year.
New in Mijn CAK: set your own language preference
A recent innvoation has been that it is now possible to select a language preference in one’s personal customer profile Mijn CAK. This important and useful in following cases:
- In addition to the Dutch letter, a translation of CAK letters can be chosen. One extra language can be selected.
- For people receiving a pension or benefit, the following languages are available: English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish.
- For cross-border workers, the available languages are: English, German, French and Polish.
New customers
New customers choose their language preference when registering. The default setting is “no translation”. The language preference can be changed at any time in Mijn CAK.
Existing customers
For existing customers, nothing changes as long as they do not make any adjustments. If the language preference is not changed, the translation remains linked to the country of residence.
