Any data subject may contact our data protection officers directly at any time with any questions or suggestions regarding data protection.

1. Legal bases and purposes of data processing and transfer

The purposes of data processing and transfer are:

  • To inform employees, employers, self-employed persons, students, pensioners and persons receiving benefits from a border country, to provide advice, information and guidance on the subject of cross-border work in general and with respect to personal situations
  • To enable us to contact you on this topic
  • To collect statistical information for applied scientific research and policy development at an euro-regional and EU level.

We process and transfer your personal data only for the purposes stated in this data privacy policy. Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties for purposes other than those stated. We process your data and will only disclose your personal data to third parties if:

  • you have given your express consent to such disclosure
  • the processing is necessary to fulfil a contract with you
  • processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation
  • the processing is necessary to protect legitimate interests and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest worthy of protection in the non-disclosure of your data.

2. Your rights as a data subject

As a data subject, you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), the right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), the right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).

If you have consented to the processing of your personal data by us, you have the right to revoke your consent at any time. The lawfulness of the processing of your personal data until revocation remains unaffected by the revocation. Similarly, further processing of this data based on another legal basis, such as to fulfil legal obligations, remains unaffected (see the section “Legal bases for processing”).

Right of objection

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data relating to you which is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e GDPR (data processing in the public interest) or Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (data processing on the basis of legitimate interests). If you object, we will only continue to process your personal data insofar as we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for doing so which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or insofar as the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

We kindly ask you to send your claims or explanations to the following contact address if possible: info@grenzinfopunkt.eu

If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates legal requirements, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

You can lodge a complaint with your responsible supervisory authority at any time. Your responsible supervisory authority depends on the federal state of your residence, your work or the alleged violation. A list of supervisory authorities (for the non-public sector) with addresses is available at: https://www.bfdi.bund.de/DE/Infothek/Anschriften_Links/anschriften_links-node.html.

3. Erasure or blocking of data

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as stipulated by the various storage periods specified by law. The corresponding data will be anonymised once the respective purpose has ceased to exist or when these periods have expired.

4. Collection of general information when visiting our website

Information of a general nature is automatically collected by a cookie when you access our website. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and similar. This is exclusively information that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person.

This information is technically necessary to correctly deliver the contents of web pages requested by you and is compulsory when using the Internet. They are processed in particular for the following purposes:

  • To ensure that the website can be connected without problems
  • To ensure a smooth use of our website
  • To evaluate system safety and stability, and
  • For other administrative purposes.

The processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interest arising from the aforementioned data collection purposes. We do not use your data to draw conclusions about your person. Recipients of the data are exclusively the data controller and, if applicable, order processors.

Anonymous information of this kind is statistically evaluated by us, if necessary, to optimise our Internet presence and the technology that operates it.

Cookies

a) Session cookies

We use cookies with our Internet presence. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies that are placed and stored on your end device by the Internet browser you use. These cookies are used to process specific information about you on an individual basis, such as your browser, location data or your IP address.

This processing makes our website more user-friendly, effective and secure, as the processing enables, for example, the reproduction of our website in different languages or the offer of a shopping cart function.

In the case of cookies that are technically necessary to operate the website, our legitimate interest lies in the functionality of our website. In this case, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

These session cookies are deleted when you close your Internet browser.

Other cookies that are not required to operate the site are only used with your consent on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

b) Removal option

You can select the relevant settings in the consent banner to prevent the storage of cookies that are not required to operate the site.

Alternatively, you can adjust your Internet browser settings to prevent or restrict the installation of cookies that are not required to operate the site. You can also delete cookies that have already been stored at any time. However, the steps and measures required for this depend on the specific Internet browser you use. If you have any questions, please use the Help function or documentation of your Internet browser or contact the browser manufacturer or support. In the case of Flash cookies, however, data processing cannot be blocked using browser settings. Instead, you must change the settings of your Flash player. However, the steps and measures required for this depend on the specific Flash browser you use. If you have any questions, please also use the Help function or documentation of your Flash player or contact the manufacturer or user support.

However, if you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, this may mean that you cannot use the full functionality of our website.

c) Borlabs Cookie

This website uses Borlabs Cookie, which sets a technically essential cookie (Borlabs Cookie) to store your cookie consent. However, no personal data is processed when you store this cookie. In this case, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

The Borlabs Cookie stores the consent you gave when you entered the website in the cookie. If you wish to revoke these consents, simply delete the cookie in your browser. When you re-enter/reload the website, you will again be requested to provide your consent for cookies.

5. Registration on our website

When you register to use our personalised services, some personal data is collected, such as your name, address, contact and communication details including your telephone number and email address. If you are registered with us, you can access content and services that we only offer to registered users. The processing of the data entered takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). Registered users can also change or delete the data submitted during registration at any time, if necessary. We will, of course, provide you with information about the personal data we have stored about you at any time. We will also be happy to correct or delete this data at your request, provided we are under no legal obligation to retain such data. To contact us in this context, please use the contact details provided at the end of this data privacy policy.

6. Contact form / Enquiry form

If you send us enquiries using the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact details you submitted on the form, will be stored to process the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions at the respective local GrenzInfoPunkt (border information point). We will not share this information without your consent.

The processing of the mandatory information (fields marked with *) and, if applicable, the voluntary information (fields not marked with *) enables us to contact you to potentially provide a more detailed assessment and occurs exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time. An informal message by email to us is sufficient to revoke your consent. The legality of the data processing operations carried out up to the time of the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

The information you provide in the contact form will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or the reason for the data storage lapses (e.g. after your request has been completed). Mandatory statutory provisions, notably data storage periods, remain unaffected.

Further contact options

If you register for a consultation as part of a consultation session or other counselling services, your contact details will be passed on to the consultation centres for organisational reasons. We will not share this information without your consent.

The data is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).

The data protection regulations of the respective providers must be observed if a consultation is held via Microsoft Teams, Zoom or another platform with the consent of the requesting party.

8. Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files stored on your computer, and which analyse how you use a website. The cookie-generated data regarding your use of this website will generally be forwarded to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Based on the activation of the IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google within the Member States of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server based in the USA and truncated there.

The transfer of personal data to the provider Google takes place on the basis of a ruling on appropriateness by the EU Commission.

Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for website operators and to provide additional services relating to website activity and Internet usage. The IP address provided by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

The purposes of the data processing are to evaluate the use of the website and to compile reports on activities on the website. Based on the use of the website and the Internet, further related services will then be provided. Processing is based on your consent in the consent banner.

You can adjust the relevant settings in the consent banner to disable the use of Google Analytics.

You can also adjust your browser software settings accordingly to prevent the storage of cookies; however, please note that, in this case, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You may also prevent the collection by Google of the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: Browser add-on to disable Google Analytics.

Additionally, or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can disable tracking by Google Analytics on our sites [google_analytics_optout] by CLICKING HERE [/google_analytics_optout]. This will install an opt-out cookie on your device. This prevents Google Analytics from tracking this website and this browser in the future for as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.

9. Use of Google Webfonts

We use Google Webfonts on this website to display our content correctly and in a graphically appealing way across all browsers (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google Webfonts are transferred to your browser cache to avoid multiple loading. Content will be displayed in a standard font if the browser does not support Google Webfonts or prevents access.

Calling up script libraries or font libraries does not automatically trigger a connection to the library operator. It is theoretically possible, although it is currently unclear whether and, if so, for what purposes, that the operators of such libraries collect data.

The privacy policy of the library operator Google is available here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

10. Use of Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API to visually display geographical information. This is a service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter “Google”. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about how visitors use the map functions. For more information about data processing by Google please visit the https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/. You can also change your personal privacy settings there in the Privacy Center.

Detailed instructions on how to manage your own data in connection with Google products  is available here.

11. Use of Google reCAPTCHA

In our Internet presence we use Google reCAPTCHA to check and avoid interactions on our website through automated access, e.g. through bots. This is a service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter “Google”.

This service enables Google to determine from which website a request is sent and from which IP address you are using the reCAPTCHA input box. In addition to your IP address, Google may also collect other information that is necessary for the offer and guarantee of this service.

Processing is based on your consent in the consent banner. You can adjust the appropriate settings in the consent banner to disable the use of Google reCAPTCHA. The transfer of personal data to the provider Google takes place on the basis of a ruling on appropriateness by the EU Commission.

12. Embedded YouTube videos

We embed YouTube videos on some of our web pages. The operator of the corresponding plug-ins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. If you visit a web page with a YouTube plug-in, a connection to the YouTube server will be established. This tells YouTube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

If a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behaviour.

If you have disabled the saving of cookies for the Google Ad program, you should not anticipate any such cookies when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. You must block the storage of cookies on your browser if you wish to prevent this.

For more information on the “YouTube” data protection policy, please visit the provider’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/

The embedding of YouTube videos is based on your consent in the consent banner. You can adjust the relevant settings in the consent banner to disable the embedding of YouTube videos. The transfer of personal data to the provider YouTube takes place on the basis of a ruling on appropriateness by the EU Commission.

13. Social media

We offer you the option of using “social media buttons” on our website. To protect your data, we rely on the “Shariff” solution for implementation. These buttons are therefore only integrated on the website as a graphic that contains a link to the corresponding website of the button provider. By clicking on the graphic, you are thus redirected to the services of the respective provider. Only then will your data be sent to the respective providers. If you do not click on the graphic, there will be no exchange between you and the providers of the social media buttons. Information about the collection and use of your data in the social networks is available in the respective terms of use of the corresponding providers. More information on the Shariff solution is available here: http://www.heise.de/ct/artikel/Shariff-Social-Media-Buttons-mit-Datenschutz-2467514.html

We have integrated the social media buttons of the following companies on our website:

  • Facebook
  • Xing
  • Linkedin
  • Instagram

14. Changes to our privacy policy regulations

We reserve the right to amend this data privacy policy to ensure it fulfils the current legal requirements at all times or to implement changes to our services in the data privacy policy, e.g. when introducing new services. The new data privacy policy will then apply to your renewed visit.

This privacy policy was created with the data protection generators from activeMind and ratgeberrecht.eu
